There are several things simple checks you can make to determine the cause of the problem:
1. Check to see if the STB power cord is not slack and ensure the power light is on
2. Make sure the television's power cord is not slack
3. Make sure all cable connections (COAX, RCA, HDMI) are not slack
4. Make sure the TV is on the correct channel if you have a Digital box or VCR hooked up.
If these check so not reveal the problem, please contact customer care at 1800-804-2994
This may happen if the remote is not operating in STB mode. To put the remote in STB mode do the following:
1. Press the "STB" button on your remote and try to change channels. If this does not work try step #2.
2. Take the batteries out of the remote, put them back in and try again. If the remote still doesn't work proceed to step #3.
3. Press the upward triangle button on the front of the STB. If the channel changes, proceed to step #4. If the channel does not change, reboot the STB
4. Replace the batteries in the remote. If this does not correct the problem, the remote may need to be replaced. Please call 1800-804-2994.
Please ensure that your TV is switched to the correct "source." If you are using RCA cables to connect your STB to your TV, ensure your TV is switched to either "video 1" or "video 2" depending on which input you used. If you are using a COAX cable to connect your STB to your TV, ensure your TV is on channel 3. If you are using the HDMI cable to connect your STB to your TV, please ensure your TV is switched to the HDMI input.
Basic power strips provide simple protection for a surge increase in voltage. More expensive models have this feature, but also include a filter which provides protection against EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or RFI (Radio Frequency Interference).
Every house has different wiring set ups, and it is impossible to say which anti-surge protectors will work with the PowerGrid 902 and which will not. It has been shown that the more expensive strips with EMI/RFI filters are more likely to prevent the Powerline adapter from working than the Basic strips. The Status LED will show red if there is a problem.
