What if the Apartment next door has Powerline adapters as well, will they be able to access my TV and my network?

The units can be set to utilize a unique security key. This allows only your power line adapters to be paired or communicate with each other. A neighbor will not be able to get access to your network even if they have the same type of powerline adapter.

Is it safe to leave the Powerline adapters on all the time?

Powerline units are certified and completely safe to leave plugged in all the time. They may become slightly warm in use - this is perfectly normal. However, you may wish to put them into standby mode when not in use. To do so, simply press the ON/STBY button and release.

How much power do the Powerline adapters use?

The Adapters use 5.5 Watts when in use and 1.8 Watts in standby mode.

Can I use another modem with my LIME TV service?

NO. Only the assigned "Smart RG modem powered by Clear access" can be used with your LIME TV service.

If my ADSL service is down, will my LIME TV work?

If your ADSL service is down, your LIME TV service will be out of service as well. We will work diligently to restore both services, but if the problem persists, please contact us at 1800-804-2994.

Do the Powerline adapters work with surge protected power strips?

Basic power strips provide simple protection for a surge increase in voltage. More expensive models have this feature, but also include a filter which provides protection against EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or RFI (Radio Frequency Interference).Every house has different wiring set ups, and it is impossible to say which anti-surge protectors will work with the PowerGrid 902 and which will not. It has been shown that the more expensive strips with EMI/RFI filters are more likely to prevent the Powerline adapter from working than the Basic strips. The Status LED will show red if there is a problem.

Whenever I turn on certain appliances, my TV signal degrades or my TV stops working.

If you are using powerline adapters to extend your network, you may experience electrical interference when you use certain electrical appliances. Some examples of equipment that are known to cause interference are: treadmills, microwave ovens and cellular phone chargers. These items do not cause interference in every case as the level of interference is dependent on how close the powerline adapter is to the outlet that the appliance is plugged into, or way the wiring was done in your house. One solution is to plug the appliance directly into one of the powerline adapters. The adapters have a built in noise filter which will reduce the effect of the interference that the appliance produces. If the offending appliance is not next to the powerline adapters a separate filter can purchased from the LIME TV stores.

What do the colours on the Powerline adapter mean?

The Status LED shows the estimated available level of throughput or speed of data transfer between both powerline adapters.
